The final round of 'Friendship through the generations' yesterday, we took 9 children from Cummersdale Primary School to Inglewood Care Home.
There were conversations, smiles, giggles, lots of trips down memory lane for the residents mixed with excitement for the future as the children talked about what they want to be when they grow up, and there was even some singing while they made their friendship bracelets. What a privilege to see 😍 thanks so much to everyone involved! #giveadaycarlisle Big thanks to @lady_gnome for organising these wonderful projects. #giveadaycarlisle

Round 2 of 'Friendship through the generations' today saw a group from Robert Ferguson Primary School go to The Laurels Care Home and they had a great morning!
Some amazing conversations happening about what the kids wanted to be when they were older and what the older people used to do when they were younger! Heart warming stuff and there were lots of smiles showing just what it meant to those involved 😍 One of the older ladies was so touched to receive not one but TWO of the friendship bracelets at the end from two super fast working girls, saying she was going to keep them forever! 😍 thank you @lady_gnome #giveadaycarlisle #giveadayheroes

10 children from Stanwix School visited Barn Close residential care home for our 'Friendship through the generations' project. The children were teaching the residents how to make friendship bracelets and at the end, the children who had finished, gave them to the residents as gifts. The kids were so excited to go and when they were there they were incredible, chatting away and helping and making. The residents loved their time with the children and couldn't give enough praise for organising such a nice activity for them to do. #giveadaycarlisle #giveadayheroes

@carlisle.college have been helping all over the city today - this was one of them: Heathlands Cumbria provide fantastic daytime opportunities for those who have learning or physical disabilities. One of our Carlisle College #GiveADay teams went to restore a woodland walk and helped with general improvements to the outdoor space. Thanks to all the busy green fingers!! #giveadaytothecity
